Gas Leases Not Yet Endorsed By Committee

Many downtown property owners have received letters from either XTO or Chesapeake (or their representatives) along with a lease for your downtown minerals.
The lease offers were significantly more than we have seen before and were consistent with these companies’ opening offer to the Downtown Gas Lease Committee. We are very encouraged by the direction of offers in downtown.
At the response of some callers, we want to clear up any confusion. The Committee is still working with the operators who submitted proposals and the leases you received are not endorsed by the Committee. The Committee will send a letter of endorsement when the negotiations have concluded.
