Stretch out the week’s kinks every other Saturday at Sundance Square Plaza. Instructors from the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA lead free yoga classes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The program usually draws a crowd of 150 to 200 people, from kids to active seniors, said Miriam Bell, YMCA senior program director. “It’s just a free way to get outside and be active every weekend,” Bell said. “Any age and ability is welcome. It’s a fun, lighthearted activity to be apart of.”

Indigo Yoga Studio is putting on free yoga sessions at Panther Island Pavilion on a covered stage with a different teacher every week. “We just wanted to get yoga out into public in a fun and accessible way,” said Taylor Matus, Indigo Yoga programs and outreach director. Donations to The Blue Butterfly Foundation are encouraged, but not required. The Blue Butterfly Foundation was founded two years ago to help fund community outreach expansion, which has allowed the studio to expand to 11 different outreach locations including crisis centers and halfway homes, Matus said.

Volunteer tour guides lead groups on foot through downtown to take a peek into the history of Fort Worth, and enjoy a stroll. The next tour will explore the background of West Lancaster Avenue, and will go a little less than two miles, group founder Tim Young said. His realty business sponsors the tours. “It’s pretty leisurely. It’s not a difficult trek,” he said. “It’s really neat to come back to the history of our city.” Local historian and head tour guide Richard Selcer provides detailed information targeting the tour theme, Young said, and each tour guide has stories to add. Tours are limited to 150 people.

Boot Camp in Burnett Park

Get in shape with the high-intensity boot camp workout every Monday evening in Burnett Park. The class is a mix of cardio and muscle toning exercises, said Caleb Garcia, personal trainer and boot camp instructor from the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA. Participants find themselves running laps around the park and doing box jumps during the hour-long sessions, Garcia said. Participants must be at least 13, and should come ready to work out with appropriate clothes and water. Workouts can be modified one-on-one for those with restrictions, Garcia said.
