City Hall is getting a new address

Heading downtown to take care of business in the municipal complex can sometimes be a daunting task. Knowing which building to visit to take care of a specific task is sometimes confusing.

Much of the confusion comes from having two buildings — City Hall and the A.D. Marshall Building — with the same address: 1000 Throckmorton St.

Now, changes are being made to help make it easier for residents to find the correct location where city services are provided in the downtown municipal complex.

Effective Jan. 1, 2017, the address for City Hall will be changed to 200 Texas St. This address will direct motorists to the south end of the building, near the visitor parking lot on Texas Street.

The A.D. Marshall Building, which houses the Municipal Court and related functions, will continue to carry the 1000 Throckmorton St. address.

Signs will be updated on both buildings to reflect the changes.
