An upscale clothing retailer that bills itself as a “fashion adventure” is coming to Sundance Square.

Parts Unknown will take the space at 410 Houston St. vacated by Leddy’s, the western wear retailer that closed at the end of the year, with plans to open in the spring, a Sundance Square official said.

The clothier also has stores in Fredericksburg, Santa Fe, N.M., Carmel, Calif., and several other locations.

“We are excited about moving into the location, recently vacated by Leddy’s. We recognize the success Leddy’s had in Sundance Square with certain brands and it is our desire to continue to offer a portion of these brands,” Bob Swink, Parts Unknown vice president, said in a statement. “Parts Unknown will carry an equal mix of men’s and women’s fashion.”

The retailer also has stores in Eureka Springs, Ark. and three other California communities: Cambria, Solvang and Ventura.

Parts Unknown’s 5,800 square feet in Fort Worth will be next door to Retro Cowboy and Pappagallo, providing the downtown area with a row of stores featuring retro and Western wear.

Parts Unknown offers brands such as Tommy Bahama, Nat Nast, Scully, True Grit, Corral Boots and French Dressing.

“We continue to develop great relationships with both national and local apparel retailers and are bringing them into a very positive environment in Sundance Square,” said Johnny Campbell, president of the 35-block Sundance Square residential, shopping and entertainment district. “Parts Unknown offers a diverse selection of contemporary, outdoor and Western fashion and will continue to fill out our growing selection of independently owned retailers.”

Leddy’s, a family-owned boot and saddle maker and Western wear retailer with roots dating back to 1922, closed its downtown location in December and consolidated into a single location in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
