What a concept: feeding your brain while you have a great meal! At Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. (DFWI) quarterly luncheons, we host Downtown experts and leaders from across the country. You'll hear them talk about issues that are important to our Downtown and quality of life. And you can network with other business leaders, too. When you're a DFWI member, you get invites to all of these events.
DFWI 2011 WINTER QUARTERLY LUNCHEON
In 2003, the Fort Worth City Council adopted the current Downtown Strategic Action Plan. The 2003 SAP was the second consecutive 10 year plan created to set the vision for downtown, identify clear objectives and articulate a strategy for achieving those objectives. The progress of downtown over the last 20 years and the engagement of so many private and public interests in the systematic improvement of our center city are directly linked to the 10 year planning and implementation cycle.
As you know, great strides have been taken during the current cycle. See the SAP Status Update. In 2012, we will begin the cycle again, using the year to imagine, plan, question old ideas and test new ones. We - you, the City, the T, the County, DFWI, the hundreds of stakeholders and community groups that are engaged in the progress of downtown - will work to craft a 2023 vision of downtown and map out the strategies to make that vision a reality.
Join us December 1, 2011 for the DFWI Winter Quarterly Luncheon as we host keynote speaker Chris Leinberger, Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution. Mr. Leinberger, one of the nation's leading urban thinkers, will discuss downtown best practices and emerging trends as we launch this exciting next chapter in downtown's growth and development.

DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH, INC. 2011 JUNE QUARTERLY LUNCHEON: MAYORAL RUNOFF CANDIDATES JIM LANE AND BETSY PRICE
This old-fashioned political picnic, held in newly-renovated Burnett Park, offered DFWI members and luncheon attendees the opportunity to hear final "stump speeches" from both Mayoral candidates. Both Lane and Price answered questions specific to downtown projects and development.
DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH, INC. 29th ANNUAL MEETING AT THE LOCATION OF FUTURE JOHN F. KENNEDY TRIBUTE
Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. hosted its 29th Annual Meeting in a tent near the location of the future JFK Tribute in General Worth Square. The meeting was held on Thursday, March 31, at 11:30 a.m. on Main Street between 8th and 9th Streets and featured keynote speaker Tom Schieffer, former U.S. Ambassador to Japan and Australia. Schieffer was in the Fort Worth crowd on November 22, 1963, and discussed the significance of Kennedy’s visit to Texas.
