Fort Worth’s “Victorian Lady,” is one of the best-preserved examples of Victorian architecture left in Texas. Little has changed in this home since 1899, when it was one of many mansions lining the streets of Fort Worth’s fashionable Quality Hill.

Built in 1899, the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House is Fort Worth’s premier example of Queen Anne-style Victorian architecture. Designed by English architect Howard Messer, of the firm Messer, Sanguinet and Messer, the home was occupied by only three families in its history and remains largely unaltered from its original construction. Turrets, gables, copper finials, a slate tile roof and a porch of red sandstone and marble highlight the late Victorian exterior. The elaborate interior consists of original ornate oak mantles, cornices, coffered ceilings, paneling and parquet floors.

SPECIAL EVENT INFORMATION:  The porch is floored in elegant, pink marble with stately sandstone columns and railings, then, crowned with a copper turret roofline. These features create an exquisite setting for photographers to capture the romance of your special day. The beautifully manicured lawn and garden area is a perfect location for a wedding ceremony. Chairs for guests may be set on the lawn to view the bride and groom on the front porch. A front lawn ceremony or reception usually accommodates a guest list of 125. There is also standing room for more guests if they attend only the ceremony or if the reception to follow is also outdoors.
Original parquet floors and woodwork adorn the interior of the house and evoke the romance of a grand era. A seated wedding ceremony and/or reception for 70 people may be held indoors. The house possesses timeless elegance as well as warmth and intimacy for you and your guests while exchanging your wedding vows. The ambiance of this historic setting will mesmerize your family and friends as you share magical moments together.

A reception buffet and the wedding cake(s) may be set up in the house. Alcohol is allowed on the property, but please no red wine or other red beverages so that we can continue to keep the house and its surroundings in its original, mint condition.
This charming and romantic site is wonderful for family and friends to enjoy dining and dancing. Our hand-laid brick patio, originally a turnabout for carriages and early motorcars, offers another scenic area for an outside wedding ceremony or reception. A guest list of about 125 can be accommodated at an outside event. It is truly a timeless setting to express your timeless love.br>
