Arcadia Coffee has made strides since first opening in an Airstream, then moving to a brick-and-mortar in the South Main district, where the shop has been thriving thanks to its all-vegan food menu, eclectically styled space, and Bohemian-inspired theming.

Now, Arcadia's getting ready to bring its funky vibes to downtown — specifically, the Sundance Courtyard at 120 W. Third St., Ste. 111. Owner Carrie Collins says this will be a "micro-shop" at 800 square feet (about half the space of the South Main location), serving mostly the same menu minus the made-to-order items the original shop is known for. But the Sundance location will still have pastries and grab-and-go breakfast options, plus that swanky courtyard seating set against the backdrop of a new Jay Wilkinson mural that's currently in progress.

Thankfully for Collins, not much redesign is needed within the existing Sundance space. Collins says the location already has exposed brick walls, original wood flooring, and white cabinetry. She says the Sundance location "will mirror the other shop in some ways, but it will have it's own identity."

Collins expects the shop to be open within the next two months.

"It's going to be a fun opportunity to bring some of that funk from the Near Southside into downtown and stir things up a bit," she says. "That's what Funkytown's about, right?"
