Christmas Tree to Arrive in Sundance Square November 18 for the Holidays

WHAT: A 50-foot concolor fir Christmas tree from Hart, Michigan arrives in Sundance Square on Monday, November 18 signaling the kick off of the holiday season. A flatbed truck will transport the tree to the center of the plaza where it will be hoisted into place for the community to enjoy. Nearly 10,000 Christmas tree LED lights will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy from Green Mountain Energy.

The tree lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 23 with the festivities beginning at 6:00 p.m. The evening will be filled with an official countdown to the tree lighting, a visit with Santa Claus, as well as numerous photo opportunities throughout the plaza. Sundance Square is expecting approximately 1.2 million visitors during the holiday season beginning with the tree lighting and continuing through New Year’s Day.

8:30 am – Flatbed truck moves tree to plaza escorted by FW Police Dept.

9:00 am – Crews prepare tree to be lifted from flatbed

9:15 am – Tree hoisted into center of plaza
