Parade of Lights attendees can park at Farrington Field, ride the bus

November 16,2016

To make it easy for everyone to get to the Parade of Lights, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA) will offer bus service from Farrington Field to FWTA’s Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) for $3.50 roundtrip. The parade begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in downtown Fort Worth.

Shawn Donaghy, chief operating officer and vice president, said he wants to provide a convenient option for parade goers.

“We will have transit ambassadors and supervisors at Farrington Field to offer assistance to anyone planning to ride the bus to the Parade of Lights,” he said. “Parking is free at Farrington Field and it’s a convenient option for avoiding traffic congestion.”

Roundtrip fares are $3.50 for adults and $1.75 for reduced fare. Children under the age of 5 are free.

Beginning at 2 p.m., FWTA will add more frequent bus service from the Route 7 bus stop on West Lancaster near Farrington Field to and from the ITC.  The last Route 7 bus going back to Farrington Field will depart from the ITC at 10 p.m. FWTA will also have staff at the ITC to help riders on their return to Farrington Field from the ITC after the parade ends.

The downtown Molly the Trolley circulator will end operation at 4 p.m. due to street closures and traffic congestion during the Parade of Lights activities.

For visitors traveling from the east, the Trinity Railway Express will have a special Sunday service for the parade. The trains will leave from Dallas starting at 2:35 p.m. The last train from the ITC will leave at 10 p.m.
