In February 2015, the Fort Worth ISD approved a $69 million campus at the I.M. Terrell site that included both the ISD’s flagship Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) and Visual Performing Arts (VPA) high schools. The school opened Fall 2018 with nearly 160 grade nine students. The total campus capacity is projected to be 800 students. The addition of this school will increases the availability of education options for families with children who live Downtown.

The school's STEM program provides a technology-based blended learning environment that is focused on students with an intense interest in engineering and computer science careers. The Visual and Performing Arts program provides opportunities for students in dance, music, theater and visual arts. Through in-depth and accelerated course work, students will prepare for college scholarship auditions and/or career opportunities in the arts.
