Public Improvement District

PID 1: Downtown was founded by DFWI in 1986. The PID offers a comprehensive program of services including maintenance and landscaping, security enhancements, market research, public space management, communications and marketing, transportation solutions, hospitality, and planning.

Property owners within the 543-acre area pay a special assessment above their regular property taxes for a coordinated program of services. The assessment is collected by Tarrant County and transferred to the City of Fort Worth. The City contracts with DFWI to provide and manage the enhanced services in Downtown.
