Halloween, in case you need reminding, is over. Indeed, the second the clock strikes midnight on Nov. 1, skeletons are shoved back into closets, intricately carved jack-o-lanterns are chunked into trashcans, and our eyes and candy-filled stomachs turn toward the next approaching holiday — that being Thanksgiving.

But there are many other Fort Worth activities to feast upon this November besides scarfing down sweet potato casserole and macaroni and cheese, equally as enjoyable even without loosening your belt a few notches.

3 – 8, ‘Jersey Boys’

A classic rags-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, “Jersey Boys” will doo-wop sway and pump-pump triple pump onto the Bass Hall stage, marking the Broadway production’s third Cowtown appearance. @Bass Performance Hall / basshall.com

4 – 11, Lone Star Film Festival

Now in its 20th trip around the sun, the Lone Star Film Festival showcases the oodles of local, national, and international film talent. This year, a biopic on Jimmy Stewart, aptly titled “Jimmy,” will make its world premiere to kick off the festival. @Various locations across the Cultural District / lonestarfilmfestival.com

7 – 8, Japanese Fall Festival

The annual Japanese Fall Festival brings forth taiko drumming, tea ceremonies, Japanese music, crafts, and food vendors — making for the perfect opportunity to spend some time in Fort Worth’s ravishing, 7.5-acre Japanese Garden. @Fort Worth Botanic Garden / fortworthjapanesesociety.org

7 – 15, ‘Frozen: The Broadway Musical’

Only recently has the Disney-based musical “Frozen” been relinquished into the hands of regional theater productions. And one can safely assume this debut trip to Casa Mañana will have tickets magically flying off the shelves. @Casa Mañana Theatre / casamanana.org

14, Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen

“Yellowstone” star and musician Ryan Bingham — who is just about as close to a Fort Worthian as one can get without actually living in Fort Worth — will bring his Americana tunes to Billy Bob’s as the grand finale of his “Still Gettin’ Away With It Tour.” @Billy Bob’s Texas / billybobstexas.com

12 – 15, Cowtown Birthplace of Western Swing Festival

Cowtown is, indeed, the birthplace of Western swing — the city that launched the career of the great Bob Wills. Featuring a reincarnation of Wills’ famous band, the Texas Playboys, along with a horde of similar acts, this three-day event will no doubt have you swingin’. @Will Rogers Auditorium / birthplaceofwesternswing.com

16 – Dec. 12, NCHA Futurity and World Finals

Some of the globe’s best horsemen in the sport of cutting will flock this way for the prestigious futurity and World Finals, situated atop four-legged athletes guaranteed to be worth more than all of our lives combined. @Will Rogers Memorial Center / nchacutting.com

20, Shakey Graves: Tulips 6th Anniversary

One-man-band folk outfit Shakey Graves helps the Near Southside music venue, Tulips, celebrate the six-year milestone. Earlier this year, the Austin-based singer-songwriter released his fifth full-length album, Fondness, Etc. @Tulips / tulipsftw.com

22, Parade of Lights

Very seldom is bumper-to-bumper traffic in downtown Fort Worth something to celebrate — but the Parade of Lights, the city’s massive holiday gathering featuring more than 100 flamboyant floats, is one of the few exceptions. @Downtown Fort Worth / fortworthparadeoflights.org

27 – 28, ‘Home for the Holidays’

Something of a benchmark for when you need to have a dent in most of your holiday shopping, the Fort Worth Symphony’s “Home for the Holidays” officially commences the long-awaited holiday season with a set of Christmas carols. @Bass Performance Hall / fwsymphony.org
