Across the Fort Worth area, festivities for all ages are planned to remember and celebrate the lasting impact of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Here’s how you can commemorate his legacy Jan. 16-19:
41st Greater Fort Worth Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee Parade and Rally
The Greater Fort Worth Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee will host a rally and parade through downtown Fort Worth, ending in Sundance Square.
When: 11a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 19
Where: Parade starts at the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1301 Commerce St.
Admission: Free to attend; $25 to join parade
Cowboys of Color Rodeo After Party for MLK Day
Join the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association in celebrating the holiday weekend with an after party featuring acclaimed soprano singer Erika Nicole Johnson.
When: 7-11 p.m. Jan. 19
Where: Stillwater Lounge & Event Center, 2219 Evans Ave.
Admission: $10 advance tickets, $15 on-site
Chicken N Pickle’s MLK Day Unity Walk
Gather together in a unity walk meant to honor and reflect on King’s message of equality and justice. A free breakfast sponsored by Chicken N Pickle will follow the walk.
When: 10 a.m. Jan. 19
Where: 4600 Merlot Ave., Grapevine
Admission: Free
Keep Grapevine Beautiful’s MLK Day of Service
Spend the day of remembrance serving others by cleaning up Grapevine’s local parks.
When: 9-11 a.m. Jan. 19
Where: Grapevine area parks
Admission: Free
MLK Day at The Dock Bookshop
The Dock Bookshop is hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day event where attendees can take in new books, enjoy family-friendly crafts and stories, and share in community conversations.
When: 3-7 p.m. Jan. 19
Where: 6637 Meadowbrook Drive, Fort Worth
Admission: Free
8th annual Martin Luther King Parade & Celebration
The Neighborhood Parade and Events Committee is hosting its annual parade and family-oriented celebration in Stop Six. The event will include guest speakers, live performances, food and vendors.
When: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 17
Where: Parade starts at Christ the Risen King Church, 2126 Amanda Ave., and ends at Eugene McRae Community Center, 4932 Wilbarger St.
Admission: Free
The Dock Bookshop’s 2026 MLK Spokenword contest and Open Mic
This event will have guest entertainers and offers a space for artists to speak what is on their mind.
When: 7:30-10 p.m. Jan. 20
Where: 6637 Meadowbrook Drive, Fort Worth
Admission: $0-$10
