Multiple 20-story towers planned near Fort Worth’s Panther Island

A nearly 12-acre property that is home to a flea market could become a major development across from Fort Worth’s Panther Island, with multiple 20-story towers, retail, and office space planned. At its meeting on Oct. 14, the Fort Worth Zoning Commission is set to review an application for a mixed-use development at 1000 N. Henderson St, the former site of the Henderson Street Flea Market. The property, known as Half Isle, sits along the West Fork of the Trinity River, just off the riverbank next to the planned bypass channel that will create Panther Island. The property, according to the zoning paperwork, is owned by SGB Bailey LLC and JGM McMahon LLC. The applicant is Fort Worth-based Boykin Land Company LLC. 20-story residential tower, office space, hotel The development would include residential, office, hotel, retail, restaurant, and “public gathering” spaces, according to the zoning application. Here’s what preliminary plans for the development include: A 19-story residential tower, a 20-story residential tower a 5-story muti-family building a 20-story office tower An 18-story hotel and residential tower, with a bar and lounge, hotel valet, and a lobby Two retail buildings More than 400 total parking spaces Four food and beverage buildings The land is zoned for buildings that are five to ten stories tall, with restrictions in place on surface street parking, the zoning paperwork says.
