In an innovative move to best utilize space and expand community offerings, Trinity Metro has partnered with Edible Ideas Inc., the Texas-based hospitality company widely recognized as Beyond the Box Catering, to manage and operate two venues at its historic Fort Worth T&P Station – the historic ballroom and the former T&P Tavern.
Edible Ideas Inc. will operate the ballroom as a wedding and event venue alongside a wine bar, which will feature a full-service kitchen for catering. With one company operating both venues, guests will have more options for both special events and everyday use. The convenient location is easily accessible by Trinity Metro TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express.
The Fort Worth T&P Station and Ballroom have a rich architectural history. Built in 1931 by the Texas & Pacific Railway, the building is Fort Worth’s largest and most extravagant structure featuring the 1920s Zigzag Moderne style. The ballroom was beautifully restored in 1999 and has been available for wedding and event rentals.
The vision
Station & Vine Wine Bar – Previously operating as T&P Tavern, the new venue will offer a distinctive full-service wine bar offering a curated selection of wines, wine flights, craft beers and signature cocktails. With a focus on Texas wines and small-batch brews, Station & Vine will offer full beverage service at the bar and also in the ballroom.
The outdoor patio will be transformed into a garden-inspired space with lawn games and lounge areas. Those who rent the ballroom will have the option of reserving Station & Vine for private use. The wine bar will be used for corporate events, happy hours, and non-profit gatherings as well. Additionally, it will host weekly community events, such as wine tastings and trivia nights that are open to the public.
Fort Worth T&P Station Ballroom – rent the venue for weddings and transform a portion of the space behind the counter into a cozy lounge for other events.
Bridal suite (adjoining room) – a private space for the bridal party to prepare for the ceremony.
T&P Station Live – Activate the space with a Wednesday night music series with the look and feel of a 1920s-style supper club. The cabaret-themed setting would feature seating for 150 guests who would enjoy light dining options and craft cocktails from Station & Vine Wine Bar.
The partnership
Trinity Metro owns Fort Worth T&P Station and is contracting with Edible Ideas Inc. to lease and manage the ballroom and dining area for a maximum contract period of 10 years, with an initial 3-year term. Edible Ideas Inc. is familiar around Fort Worth for its catering operations for Fort Worth Stockyards Station and at the Exhibit Café inside Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
