As ESPN’s College GameDay sets up in Sundance Square for the opening weekend of college football, they’ve added another guest: country music superstar Brad Paisley. Paisley, who served as guest picker at GameDay’s West Virginia stop last year, will perform his new single “Country Nation” during the Saturday, Sept. 5 season opening broadcast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the Wisconsin-Alabama game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington at 7 p.m.

Host Rece Davis will replace former show host Chris Fowler. Analysts Kirk Herbstreit, David Pollack, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard will appear alongside Davis. Contributors Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, George Whitfield and Gene Wojciechowski will be on the show as well.
Corso will also make his 258th headgear selection, wherein he will predict the game’s winner by wearing the school’s mascot head. In the past six seasons, he is 5-1 in correctly predicting the winners for the first week of the season. He is 10-6 all time in week one.

On Sept. 4, SportsCenter will also air from Sundance Square beginning at 8 a.m. At 1 p.m., College Football Live will take place on the GameDay set, to be aired on ESPN2.

Paisley, known for his country music hits as well as co-hosting the CMA’s with Carrie Underwood, recently opened for The Rolling Stones during the rock band’s recent tour.

Additional programming details will be announced later in the week including planned features, segments and the guest picker. - staff reports
