DFWI’s Summer Luncheon, Thursday, June 14: “For The Love of Cities”
May 29,2012
How many times have you heard someone say "I love Fort Worth!" when talking about our city?
Downtown Fort Worth and the surrounding urban areas have seen a remarkable renaissance in the last decade. Urban-focused blogs, grass root street events, innovative gatherings and a renewed interest in city life are changing the way people who love Fort Worth express that love. This is a wonderful byproduct of Fort Worth’s growth…the increased engagement of our neighbors in the life and future of their central city.
On June 14, Peter Kageyama will be the keynote speaker at Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.'s Summer Luncheon. Peter’s new book, For the Love of Cities is about “the emotional connections that we have with some places versus others and the benefits that accrue to communities that are able to tap into that emotional wellspring.”
Tickets are $65 for DFWI members and $80 for non-members. To RSVP, contact Becky Bethel at Becky@dfwi.org or call 817.870.1692.
Quarterly events help keep the DFWI membership and the entire Downtown community excited and informed about our center city. This is an important time for community engagement, because as our city changes around us, our understanding of that change must keep pace.
We look forward to seeing you at the Summer Luncheon!
