Downtown Building Wins Design Award
August 8,2013
714 Main Street has been chosen as a recipient of the Texas Society of Architects 2013 Design Awards for its renovation by Schwartz Hanson Architects. The building was recognized by the awards jury for "underscoring the value of early-20th-century preservation in the area," according to spokeswoman Monica Cavazos Mendez. "The jurors said that the project represents a true civic gift to Fort Worth and that hopefully it will be an inspiration to others," Mendez added for the Star-Telegram. This year's competition focused on projects that demonstrate the impact of architecture and the transformative powers of quality design. The selected 11 designs will be featured in the September/October issue of Texas Architect magazine and honored at the society's annual convention on November 7-9 in Fort Worth.
