It's officially September, which means football season, pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween — and oh yes, the holidays.

Believe it or not, the holidays are upon us once again, and in light of such circumstances, the GM Financial Parade of Lights has announced the date for the 39th iteration of its annual event: Nov. 21.

But, unlike last year, which saw the parade take on a virtual format due to COVID-19, this year's parade will be returning to the streets of downtown Fort Worth, following a route identical to that used in 2019, with staging occurring in the lots and streets bounded by Weatherford, Henderson, Third, and Taylor streets.

Last year's virtual parade took place at the Fort Worth Convention Center, broadcast on the event's Facebook page and on TXA-21. According to the Parade of Lights, the 2021 parade will also be broadcast both on TV and online.

The parade is currently taking float applications now through Oct. 15, and tickets for reserved street seats are scheduled to go on sale Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. There's no word yet on performers or additional activities.
