Fort Worth Bike Sharing Expands by 8 Stations, 50 Bikes

Starting May 11, Fort Worth Bike Sharing will be installing 8 new stations and adding 50 new bicycles to its fleet.

The system will grow from 35 stations, 300 bikes to 43 stations, 350 bikes. Fort Worth Bike Sharing plans to add another 2 stations later this year.

The 8 new stations are:

Forest Park & Park Hill (at 7-11)

Moncrief Cancer Institute (Magnolia & St. Louis)

Panther Island Pavilion (Taylor traffic circle)

Trinity Park South (east of intersection of Trinity Park and Old University)

Riverfront Drive (near Woodshed)

Stockyards Station (outside Visitors Center)

Texas & Henderson (near Walgreens)

Trinity Uptown (near TownePlace Suites)

Funding for the new stations and bikes was awarded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Transit Enhancements program in July 2013.

On May 29 at the Stockyards Visitors Center, Fort Worth Bike Sharing will host an expansion event to celebrate our new stations, new sponsors, and our partnership with Green Mountain Energy..

Fort Worth Bike Sharing launched on Earth Day, April 22, 2013 with 27 stations and 300 bikes. Since then, more than 30,000 riders have taken 60,000 trips and traveled 200,000 miles.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our system after just two years in operation,” said Kristen Camareno, Fort Worth Bike Sharing executive director. “Through feedback from our customers, we’ve identified eight great locations to both fill out and expand our system area. Come ride with us!”
