Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan Update

August 4,2017

The City of Fort Worth is embarking on an update of the original Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan, adopted by City Council in 2003, which set forth a vision for public art in Fort Worth, as well as recommendations for future projects and guidelines for artist selection and design review.  The 2014 Fort Worth Cultural Plan Update recommended a public art master plan update, “to confirm that program initiatives reflect community priorities”.

This plan includes recommendations and research by Public Art planning and creative place-making experts Barbara Goldstein and Jessica Cusick on public art in Fort Worth and the proposed vision for the next 15 years.

The Art Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the Draft Plan on August 14, 2017, during the regularly scheduled Fort Worth Art Commission Meeting.

The plan will go before City Council in September of 2017.
