2018 GM Financial Parade of Lights, Celebrating 100 Years of Cook Children’s:

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, November 18, 2018 for the GM Financial Parade of Lights.  

Schedule of Activities:

  • 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM –
    • Ride the TRE! Full train service will be available on Sunday, November 18. For more information go to www.trinityrailwayexpress.org.
  • 4:30 PM – Come early to get a great seat, enjoy some hot chocolate or delicious fare, visit the shops of Sundance Square, or enjoy a leisurely meal in any of our Downtown restaurants.
  • 5:40 PM
    • Cowboy Santas collect toys along the route
  • 5:45 PM – Parade pre-event ceremony with the Star Spangled Banner takes place in front of the Courthouse on Weatherford Street.
  • 6:00 PM – GM Financial Parade of Lights Celebrating 100 Years of Cook Children’s begins, featuring over 100 illuminated entries.
    • Grand Marshal – Patients under the care of Cook Children’s.
    • Entries featuring community groups and supporters from around Fort Worth, including award winners from previous years.
    • 4 announcer stands!
    • Santa’s arrival on the Downtown Fort Worth Inc. float!
  • (NOTE: The Sundance Square Christmas Tree will be lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2018! For more information please visit www.SundanceSquare.com)

First staged in 1983 to help Fort Worth celebrate family and togetherness in a spirited way. It has grown to become one of the top Illuminated Parades in the country.

Through the Eyes of a Child!

Parade Route
From corner of Weatherford and Throckmorton Streets, Weatherford to Commerce, then south on Commerce to 9th Street. Next, west on 9th Street to Houston Street, and finally north on Houston Street to 2nd Street, west to Throckmorton Street and then south to 3rd Street.

    Transportation/Parking

    Note: Spur 280 off of I-35 will close at 4:30 PM, and Henderson Street will close at University at 4:30 PM.
