Improvements Underway for two Henderson Street Traffic Signals

February 12,2018

There is a great need for left turn signals at Henderson & W. 7th Streets as the level of left turn volume has increased. Additionally, the signal infrastructure at this intersection is older and not capable of any enhancement. As a result, the current traffic signal will be replaced by the City of Fort Worth with a new traffic signal that will include left turn indications. At the same time, one of the signal poles at Henderson & 5th Streets was damaged by a car crashing into it. The pole was temporarily fixed but it is in need of a permanent fix. The City is taking advantage of this opportunity and will not only take care of the damaged foundation and pole, but it will also improve the signal indications and equipment at the same time.

Minor activities have started at Henderson & 5th. The heavier work is estimated to begin on February 19th, 2018, and estimated to be completed by the end of March 2018.

Work activity at Henderson & 7th is planned to start in early April 2018 and estimated for completion by the end of June 2018.

Work activities at all these locations will be limited to hours between 9:00 AM & 4:00 PM to minimize impact of rush hours.
