The T’s Buses to Scroll Earth Day Reminder to Ride Transit to Help Reduce Emissions
April 18,2014
This Earth Day, consider switching from your car to a bus or train for your commute! It will reduce emissions by 20 pounds a day, or 4,800 pounds a year, according to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). And, The T’s buses are extra “green” since they operate on compressed natural gas (CNG), which has a colorless, odorless exhaust with no particulate matter.
As a reminder to ride transit, The T’s bus head signs will scroll “EARTH DAY RIDE CNG” starting Friday, April 18 through Earth Day, Sunday, April 20.

*Friday and Saturday - Every 15 minutes from 5:45 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
*Sunday - Every hour from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.
The T’s CNG FUELED BUSES: The T has operated more than 100 million miles using compressed natural gas since it began its CNG program in 1990, resulting in an estimated reduction of more than 1500 tons of nitrous oxide and 12 tons of particulate matter compared to using diesel fuel.
