Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Shane entered the blue-collar labor force out of high school in 1994, where he learned of hard work and dedication. In 2014, he earned his Master of Science in Economics at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is also certified in Geographic Information Systems.
Shane became inspired by his professors and became passionate about economic theory and development. He enjoys learning from great scholars such as Adam Smith, Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, and John Keynes.
Shane has taught as an adjunct professor of economics at Dallas County Community College, served as a research analyst at UT Dallas, and in 2022, joined DFWI as Director of Research.
Shane relocated to Fort Worth in 2018. He is happily married to his wife, Yolanda Smith, and is a father to his daughter Sofia Bond. Shane is strongly anchored to serve God through faith as an Elementary Sunday School Teacher and member of Countryside Bible Church.
