Aug. 26: Water main break on Jones Street at East 6th Street. An electrical contractor struck a 24-inch water main in Jones Street at East 6th Street Monday afternoon. Water crews completed the main break repair early this morning, and the line is back in service. Jones Street remains closed between East 6th and East 5th streets. East 6th Street is open at Jones Street. The street repair contractor will assess the situation this morning and determine the process for completing the repairs. Additional lane and road closures may be required. Street restoration is likely to take a few days. Read More

The city of Fort Worth is handing out free masks to local businesses to help encourage COVID-19 safety and keep employees protected.

From 8am - 2pm today and tomorrow, people just have to show a business card to get up to 250 free masks for their business.

According to the city, businesses can pick up the masks in increments of 50 at the Visitor Center on Main Street in downtown while supplies last.

Tarrant County continues to struggle with the spread of the coronavirus. Over 1,100 new cases were reported yesterday, the 6th straight day the county has reported more than one thousand new cases.

Later this morning, Tarrant County Commissioners will meet and will vote on extending the mask mandate.
