Downtown Fort Worth Welcomes PGA Fans

June 11,2020

Downtown restaurants and retailers are now open

The restaurants and shops in Downtown Fort Worth welcome the PGA touring pros, caddies, media representatives, tour officials, and golf fans for this weekend’s Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth.

After sheltering in place, the businesses of downtown are safely re-opening and welcoming guests. Dining rooms and patios are filling again (as appropriate) and shops are open.  Many restaurants and stores are offering specials and sip & shop hours as a “welcome back” to their guests.

“The Downtown merchants and restaurants are so excited to welcome our customers and the community back safely. We decided to get together and have a ‘Grand Reopening Weekend’ since all eyes will be on Fort Worth for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Y’all come on down and support your local businesses and enjoy Downtown!” - Marie "Doc" Holliday, DMD, owner of three Sundance Square businesses in Downtown: Flowers to Go, Let it Shine Dental, and Marie Antoinette.

Downtown restaurants range from the traditional Texas fare offered at Reata to the “knife & fork” sandwiches at Little Red Wasp. Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Grace and The Capital Grille offer prime steaks and Waters offers delectable fresh-catch seafood.

Downtown sports bars – and we have a few – are great places to watch the Charles Schwab Challenge. Buffalo Bros. in Sundance Square boasts 93 TVs and will be playing the tournament all weekend long. Cowtown Brewing Company is also hosting a weekend-long watch party with their big-screen projector.

Valet programs are up and running and Downtown’s Ambassadors are on the street, offering directions and helping visitors navigate their entertainment, dining and shopping choices.
