Press release from the City of Fort Worth:

Ambassadors are sanitizing garbage bins and parking meters downtown.

Downtown Fort Worth Inc. (DFWI) provided an update on operations in the central business district. Essential on-street personnel have been carrying out their regularly scheduled duties with some adaptations to help keep them and the public safe:

  • At the request of the City of Fort Worth, DFWI crews are sanitizing high-touch items such as trash cans and parking meters.
  • Pressure-washing crews implemented new sanitizing solutions and are focusing additional attention on areas of higher foot traffic such as the district core and areas surrounding the Fort Worth Convention Center.
  • Tables and chairs have been temporarily removed from downtown parks.
  • The regularly scheduled spring planting was completed with 1,152 flats of mixed petunias planted across 10,000 square feet of planter beds in the district.

The Downtown Ambassadors are still patrolling the streets, helping to educate downtown visitors and guests about social distancing.

Ambassador hours remain 7 a.m. to midnight daily. To reach an on-duty manager, call 817-484-3723.
