How volunteers can help during the COVID-19 crisis

Over the past few days, many of Fort Worth’s faith-based community partners have reached out with offers of their organization’s resources, skills and volunteers during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Here are a few ways organizations can help make a difference:

Donate needed supplies. Residents who have personal protective supplies, such as gloves and masks, they are willing to donate are encouraged to drop them off curbside at four Fort Worth Public Library locations and area Goodwill Donation Centers. Learn more about requested donations and drop-off sites.

Help with other needs. Should other specific needs arise, an internal resource database can be utilized. Share the types of current resources your organization can offer by completing this form.

Volunteer online. View immediate volunteer needs on Voly. This site allows local organizations to post their volunteer opportunities, and volunteers can sign up to help meet those needs. Opportunities are ever changing, so check this site frequently.

Help the homeless – safely. Organizations with a heart for the homeless community can safely support shelters and street outreach teams online or by texting WESUPPORT to 41444. For health and safety reasons, do not give direct donations of food or other items to homeless residents at this time.
