Thirty-year-old Gustavo Gonzalez was overcome with emotion as he played the tambora drum while spectators cheered for his band, Banda La Tremenda NG, on Jan. 14 at the All-Western Stock Show Parade in downtown Fort Worth.

Gonzalez began playing the tambora drum with the band of 17 musicians about 10 years ago, he said. The band was brought by the Federación de clubes Zacatecanos de Fort Worth, or Federation of Zacatecan Clubs of Fort Worth.

“It was something very emotional and beautiful — all those people,” Gonzalez said in Spanish.

More than 120 organizations participated, including the Paschal High School, Benbrook High School and South Hills High School bands and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office.
