Sundance Square welcomes the Nissan Nightlife Concert Series this May with free concerts May 11 and May 25 in Sundance Square Plaza.

The Nissan Nightlife Concert Series will feature Emerald City Band on May 11 and Quaker City Night Hawks on May 25. Both shows start at 7 p.m. and will be performed on the Plaza stage in the heart of Sundance Square. Nissan will also be handing-out premiums to enhance the concert experience and will be bringing out the “TEXAS” letters for a fun photo-op for the whole family.

“Nissan has been a great partner in the plaza and we are pleased to bring both bands to Sundance Square Plaza in May to entertain the community,” said Tracy Gilmour, Sundance Square’s director of marketing. “The music series is a great opportunity to enjoy Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth and all that it has to offer including restaurants and shops.”

A one-of-a-kind band, Emerald City Band averages more than 300 performances a year. The Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, and Knot Magazine voted Emerald City Band as “Entertainers of the Year.”  Motion, movement, and energy best describe this 13-piece, three-horn section super group that excites audiences with high-energy songs.

Quaker City Night Hawks is a rock n’ roll band with sounds of Texas boogie, Memphis soul and heavy blues. Quaker City Night Hawks will entertain crowds of all ages.

Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome during the concert. Beverages will be available for purchase during the performances and restaurants will be open throughout the evening. By visiting Sundance Square establishments, these events will continue to be offered to guests for free.

Also coming up this summer is Plaza Palooza, a free two-day festival June 1 – 2 with chalk artists, a popular line-up of music, visual street artists and other fun entertainment.

The professional chalk artists will begin their street paintings Friday, June 1 from 1 to 9 pm. The 16 artists also will be in Sundance Square on Saturday, June 2 from 1 pm until they finish their original works of art, which will be on display throughout the weekend.
