Center for Transforming Lives: A message from Carol Klocek

March 17,2020

A message from Center for Transforming Lives CEO Carol Klocek

Center for Transforming Lives’ team has spent the last few weeks closely monitoring COVID-19 while working diligently to ensure the safety and health of our community, clients, and team members. We are particularly concerned with how this virus and the temporary closing of schools and businesses will impact families already experiencing poverty and homelessness. Hourly wage positions are being cut and child care/public schools are becoming inaccessible – resulting in more families facing hunger, the inability to maintain safe and clean environments and possible eviction.

CTL is taking the following measures in an effort to continue protecting our community:

Downtown office hours have been modified as follows:

  • Essential personnel for critical services are available Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • The Annual Transforming Lives Luncheon set for March 25, 2020 from 12 to 1 p.m. has been postponed until further notice. Attendees will receive direct communication upon rescheduling.
  • We have enhanced and increased the frequency of cleaning procedures throughout all Tarrant County locations.
  • The Early Childhood Education programs and facilities will remain open and available during this time. Groups of children and teachers will remain under 10 people per area.

CTL understands that many first responders, including our healthcare workers, are in dire need of child care due to closings. In addition, we believe in the importance of providing child care for the families who are most financially vulnerable due to the effects of this virus. All facilities have been professionally sanitized and will continue to be maintained through extensive disinfection and cleaning procedures.

For more information on enrollment, please contact 817-332-6169.

All in-person internal and client program appointments will be transitioned to conference calls or rescheduled.

We recognize that as this situation continues to develop there may be a need for additional changes. To stay updated, please refer to the Center for Transforming Lives Facebook page. For additional information or support, please contact us at 817-332-6169.

In addition to supportive services and safe hygiene practices, CTL is increasingly focused on helping families meet their daily needs for food and shelter. To do this, we are asking for your help. With your generous support, we can ensure that mothers and their children are safe, able to pay rent and have access to basic necessities.

When we work together, we can make a real change in our community.

Sincerely,

Carol Klocek
