Fort Worth-area job seekers can ride Trinity Metro buses and trains for free

Tarrant County residents who are trying to land a job are getting a little help from Trinity Metro. The transportation agency is now offering free rides for job seekers on all its buses, trains, and other services.
“The pandemic impacted many people’s careers,” says Wayne Gensler, vice president and chief operating officer of bus and paratransit, in a release. “We know job seekers will be using our services to travel to job fairs and interviews, so we want to help them by providing free rides.”
To take advantage of the deal, customers need to provide personal identification and a communication from the hiring company to the bus operator or train conductor. Acceptable communications include a paper document, email, text, or flier stating the date of the interview from the hiring company and/or job fair, the release says.
Free rides are available on all buses, trains, ACCESS, and ZIPZONE services in Tarrant County, Trinity Metro says. ZIPZONE riders will need to enter a code when booking their ride; to get a one-time code for a round trip, customers can call 817-215-8600 and provide the time, date, and location of the interview or job fair.
All Trinity Metro riders are required to wear face coverings over their noses and mouths for the duration of their ride and when interacting in any transportation facility.
As extra help for job seekers, the agency has posted this current list of local job fairs on its Facebook page.
New safety app
As an added layer of security, Trinity Metro has also just launched a new mobile app that allows customers to report security concerns and safety hazards. The “See Say Now” mobile app encourages riders to report any potential issues, like suspicious activity or unattended bags, by submitting a photo and description when they see it. Reports can be made anonymously.
“The ‘See Say Now’ app is a timely and efficient option for alleviating concerns by giving customers a chance to share what they see,” says Jon-Erik “AJ” Arjanen, vice president and COO of rail, who also oversees safety and security. “This safety enhancement gives riders an easy way to share any potential issues with us, and the comments go directly to dispatch.”
The “See Say Now” app can be downloaded from the Apple store or Google Play store. Customers can also text tips to 817-409-8686 or fill out an online form.
Trinity Metro is a regional transportation system that provides public transportation to meet the mobility needs in Tarrant County. The agency offers connections throughout the North Central Texas region via buses, vanpools, and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), which is jointly owned and operated with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). Trinity Metro is the sole owner and operator of TEXRail, the commuter rail line that runs between downtown Fort Worth and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
