Monroe Street closed beginning June 24

Monroe Street from 10th Street to Texas Street will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday, June 24, to replace a 12-inch waterline.

City Hall visitors can park on 10th Street from Jennings Avenue west toward Burnett Park; Jennings Avenue from 10th Street to Texas Street; and on 13th Street. Download the FW Park app to find the best spot.

The Water Department’s customer service lobby, 908 Monroe St., is currently closed due to COVID-19 but is scheduled to reopen Monday, June 29. Customers can pay water bills by entering the alleyway entrance on Texas Street, west of Monroe Street. The alley is one way, northbound, during construction. The payment drop box is on the south side of the Water Department Building on Monroe Street.

Street construction is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday. If necessary, work will also be scheduled for Saturdays from 7 a.m.to 2 p.m.

This part of the downtown infrastructure improvement project is scheduled to be complete by the end of the day Aug. 3.
