The Rooftop Cinema Club, the one-of-a-kind outdoor cinema located on top of the Worthington Renaissance Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, is celebrating film history this spring with a new lineup that marks the major anniversaries of three classic films.

The theater's newly released schedule for May and June includes the 10th Anniversary of The Great Gatsby, Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel; the 35th Anniversary of Coming to America, the Eddie Murphy classic; and the 45th Anniversary of Grease, featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in their prime.

Holidays
They're also marking some big holidays, including the unofficial holiday of Star Wars Day, with May 4 screenings of Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, followed the next day by Selena on Cinco de Mayo.

They'll celebrate Mother’s Day on May 14 with screenings of Mamma Mia! and Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once. Dads get screenings of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Top Gun: Maverick on Father’s Day, June 18.

Lastly, they'll showcase Black filmmakers and actors on Juneteenth, June 19, with screenings of Love & Basketball and the recent remake of Candyman.

School's out
There will also be prom-themed movies during May, multiple LGBTQIA+ films during Pride Month in June, special discounts for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-14), and more.

All of that is in addition to Rooftop Cinema Club's normal offerings, like sing-alongs, dog-friendly "Wooftop" events, and a "People's Choice" screenings, this time featuring which great Denzel Washington movie viewers want to see most.

Tickets are now on sale for movies through July 2. The full list of screenings can be found at rooftopcinemaclub.com/downtown-ft-worth.

The Rooftop Cinema Club provides 360-degree views of downtown Fort Worth from the rooftop of the hotel while attendees relax in deckchairs with personal wireless headphones in front of the state-of-the-art LED screen showing iconic movies. They have multiple locations around the U.S.
