Sundance Square’s live music series, “Party In The Plaza”, will kick off once a month on Thursday nights beginning, August 22.  This free event begins August 22 and runs through November 14 in Sundance Square Plaza. The concerts will begin at 6:00 pm.

“Party In The Plaza” this fall will feature:

August 22 – Western Youth
September 19 – Gloria D’ Arezzo & Friends
October 24 – Northern National
November 14 – Ricki Derek & His Big Band

Each band will play for 90 minutes from the plaza stage in the heart of Sundance Square.  Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome during the concert.  Beverages will be available for purchase during the performances and restaurants will be open throughout the evening.
Western Youth’s collection of songs stagger artfully between Americana, folk and honest American rock and roll. Smart, moody lyrics and sublime three/four-part harmonies meld with searing guitar riffs and intricate arrangements showcasing a defiant yet evolving band on the rise. The opening act for Western Youth is the Tiffany Shea Band.
Backed by an ensemble of talented musicians, Gloria D’ Arezzo brings back the early days of beloved jazz standards with tunes currently filling the airwaves. Gloria interprets the vocal style of such renowned acts as Billy Holliday, Rosemary Clooney, Diane Krall, Sade and more great artists to get the crowd moving.

Northern National has delivered a refreshing spin on today’s alternative rock. The smooth, powerful vocals layered over chill beats and intricate guitar riffs make their music undeniably catching. The four-piece band has toured with acts such as Blue October, The Unlikely Candidates, and The Band Camino. Their album, New Age, features five indie-rock gems, including their debut single, Love is Fire, and their heartfelt love song Dallas which caught the attention of Spotify. The opening act for Northern National is Jordan Gallas.

Closing out the fall series of “Party In The Plaza” will be Ricki Derek & His Big Band.  Ricki Derek is an entertainer, greatly influenced by Sinatra, Dino, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Tom Jones, Bobby Darin, & Sammy Davis Jr. Ricki has made it his mission in life to channel the greats of past and present with his own style. Whether he is performing with his 24-piece orchestra, his 15-piece Big Band, or leaning against a piano, he always surrounds himself with the best musicians. A Taste of Herb will open for Ricki Derek.
